Passengers will benefit from a better, more reliable railway in 2020 thanks to upgrade and maintenance work taking place this Christmas and New Year.

The first part of a project to improve passenger journeys on a busy commuter line in Hounslow has been completed.

The line between Tonbridge and Redhill is currently closed in both directions after a landslip this afternoon (Sunday 22 December). An hourly bus replacement service is running in place of trains today and this will also apply to Monday 23^rd, Tuesday 24^th and Friday 27^th December.

Network Rail engineers will deliver £8m of enhancements on Scotland’s Railway over the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Work is now underway to prepare for the demolition and reconstruction of the bridge under the railway which enables access to Parklea playing fields in Port Glasgow.
