As preparatory work of the Sizewell branch line is set to begin from January 2025, Network Rail is urging leisure walkers to stay off the tracks for their own safety. 

Network Rail is advising passengers that the Newquay line in Cornwall will be closed until at least Friday 6 December while emergency repairs are carried out.

There will be no trains between Lancaster and Barrow-In-Furness from Tuesday until Thursday next week while essential repairs are carried out in Ulverston. 

• Key upgrade work at Brookwood, between Farnborough and Woking, will mean significantly longer journeys
• Services between Waterloo and Southampton/Weymouth will be diverted, adding 45 minutes to journeys
• There will be no direct services between London Waterloo and Exeter St Davids
• Passengers encouraged to check before travelling and plan journeys in advance

A super-sized suitcase is helping to remind passengers at King’s Cross to beware of bag thieves – as the station returns to pre-Covid visitor numbers.

Passengers are being reminded to prepare for a four-week period of railway upgrade work in and around Westbury station, that will improve performance of train services and ensure the continued safe and reliable running of the railway for years to come.

Pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists urged to take more care at level crossings across the Merseyrail network after frequent misuse has been reported in some areas.
