Network Rail is urging people to follow the designated diversion route when walking between Dawlish Warren and Dawlish following several recent incidents of trespassing on the railway.

• The upgrades in south London will improve reliability on the network while major work to improve accessibility at Gatwick Airport station will make journeys easier for all passengers and support people with reduced mobility.

Network Rail has completed a £2.7million project to upgrade two railway bridges in Grantham which carry the busy East Coast Main Line.

Network Rail is advising those planning to travel by train over the May Bank Holidays to plan ahead as it prepares to carry out several refurbishment and upgrade projects across Kent and South East London to improve the railway for passengers.

Passengers travelling into London on the Great Eastern Main Line and Southend lines are urged to check before they travel next month (May) as planned upgrades will be carried out to improve reliability.

• Those looking to travel by train over the Early May Bank Holiday are urged to plan their journeys in advance and travel at quieter times

• Passengers are advised to travel either side of the bank holiday on Friday 30 April and Tuesday 4 May
• Further afield, London Euston railway station will be closed between 1-3 May - trains will start and finish at Milton Keynes
• People should follow Government guidance and minimise the number of journeys they make where possible
