More than 6km of railway track is being replaced across the West Midlands as the rail industry works together to build back better after the coronavirus pandemic.

Passengers in West Sussex are benefiting from a major investment to Crawley Station, part of the Department for Transport’s Access for All programme.

Reliability improvements have been made on the Harwich branch line, following track renewals and maintenance carried out by Network Rail.

The Network Rail team behind the proposed station development at East Linton attended a public meeting to discuss the project and answer questions from members of the community.

Work to refurbish the three land towers on Britannia Bridge, which links Anglesey and the mainland of Wales across the Menai Strait, is set to begin on Wednesday 17 February.  

Network Rail is starting improvement work at Harringay station this month, as part of a wider project which will see the footbridge strengthened.

Network Rail will replace wheel timbers on a rail bridge that crosses the River Deben next month (March) to keep services on the East Suffolk Line running safely and reliably.
