The railway between Crewe and Chester has reopened to passengers after a nine-day closure to reconstruct a major road bridge in Crewe.

Passengers are advised to check how their journey might be affected when vital rail upgrades take place over the August Bank Holiday weekend to improve reliability of services.

• Those who are travelling by rail should wear a face covering unless they are exempt. Passengers should also travel at quieter times and maintain a distance from others wherever possible

The Stay Safe with Thomas campaign, launched by Network Rail and Thomas & Friends™, is designed to give parents the tools to educate their children about how to keep safe when travelling on the railway.

One of the most recognisable buildings in Swindon which is right next to the town's station is set to get a new lease of life after Network Rail took back its ownership on 10 August. 

Passengers are being advised about maintenance work on lifts at Birmingham International station which starts next week.
