Cambridgeshire & Peterborough Mayor Dr Nik Johnson officially opened the new railway station at Soham today to the delight of the community as the first trains rolled into the new platform, five months ahead of the original timetable.

London North Eastern Railway (LNER) is celebrating the launch of direct Azuma services between Middlesbrough and London King’s Cross with Teesside becoming the latest destination to benefit from the arrival of LNER’s world-class trains.

Network Rail engineers will be working on tracks near Salisbury station on 18 December, meaning buses will replace South Western Railway and Great Western Railway trains between Salisbury and Andover/Romsey/Southampton until early afternoon.
