Rail passengers should plan ahead with national industrial action due to take place on Wednesday (27 July) and Saturday 30 July as train services will be severely disrupted and some routes closed.

The rail industry is reminding passengers that services will be severely disrupted on Wednesday as a result of a national strike called by the leadership of the RMT union. 

• Rail passengers travelling on the East Coast Main Line are urged to plan ahead this Wednesday (27 July) as a limited timetable will be available
• Amid national industrial action, less than half of usual services will run between London and Edinburgh from 7.30am until 6.30pm
• Passengers should check before they travel, expect disruption and only travel if necessary

• Rail passengers in Yorkshire and the North East are urged to plan ahead this Wednesday (27 July) as a severely limited timetable will be available
• Amid national industrial action, only around 10% of services will run between 7.30am and 6.30pm with some routes closed altogether

Network Rail Scotland and train companies are working closely to run as many services as possible during industrial action by the RMT union this Wednesday (July 27).
