Network Rail has begun work to install around 10,000 tonnes of rock armour alongside a stretch of the Cambrian Line to make it more resilient and reliable for passengers.

Passengers are being reminded that services between Aberdeen and Inverness will be disrupted this weekend as work to build the new Inverness Airport station continues.

Network Rail engineers are on track to begin work renewing the railway in Penge Tunnel, between Brixton and Beckenham Junction, where the line will be closed for nine-days at the end of this month.

The local community in Stonehouse, Stroud, are now able to cross the railway more safely following a recent upgrade of Globe Inn level crossing.

Network Rail engineers successfully carried out a £2.28 million project to prevent landslips in the Fareham area with the line closed for 9 days to allow the work to happen.

A package of rail works to reduce delays and improve reliability of rail services for passengers travelling between London, Enfield Town and Cambridge has been completed.
