• Rail passengers travelling on the East Coast Main Line are urged to plan ahead this Thursday (18 Aug) and Saturday (20 Aug) as a limited timetable will be available  
• Amid national industrial action, less than half of usual services will run between London and Edinburgh from 7:30am until 6:30pm 
• Passengers should check before they travel, expect disruption and only travel if necessary  

The people of Troon will get the first chance to see proposed plans for the redevelopment of the station building following a fire which destroyed it in July last year.

Passengers are advised to check before they travel this August Bank Holiday as Network Rail is set to carry out track, signalling and overhead wire works to improve Anglia’s rail network.

This September, Network Rail engineers will be working around the clock to replace around one mile of old 1950s-style track between Maiden Newton and Chetnole in Cattistock on the Heart of Wessex line. 

The number of people passing through Waverley Station on the first week of the Edinburgh Festival reached over 800,000.

Both Parsonage Road and Littlehaven level crossings will be closed to improve reliability of the railway for passengers and make level crossings safer for motorists and people travelling by foot. 

Passengers intending to travel between London Kings Cross and Stevenage and on Great Northern routes into Moorgate over the August Bank Holiday weekend are being asked to plan ahead due to engineering work, and check how their journey may be affected. 

Work to build the second mile of new track on the Levenmouth Rail Link is now underway.
