Network Rail has confirmed that the A338 Wantage Road bridge will remain open for the majority of the improvements.

Transport Minister Keith Brown today (Tuesday, September 23) joined Network Rail to officially open the new fully-accessible footbridge and lifts at Dunblane station.

A new exhibition telling the story of the vital role Britain’s railway and its staff played in World War One arrived at Leeds station today - Monday, 22 September - and Network Rail, Northern Rail and First TransPennine Express representatives had a first-look at the exhibition together.

The first permanent Big Issue vendor’s pitch inside a railway station will be unveiled by Network Rail and The Big Issue Foundation at Euston station on Friday 19 September. The pitch will support the selected vendor to earn a legitimate income, with the new partnership including activities to help support the charity’s work with the homeless and those at risk of homelessness.

Network Rail has announced a new managing director, network operations to take over from Robin Gisby who has decided to leave next year. Phil Hufton, currently chief operating officer of London Underground, will be joining in early 2015 and will have an orderly handover from Robin.
