Passengers at Tilehurst, in Berkshire, could be set to benefit from lifts on all four platforms after Network Rail signalled their intent to develop plans for step-free access at the station.

Passengers in the Bristol area are advised to check before travelling over the next two weekends (26-27 October and Sunday 3 November) as Network Rail carries out important signalling work in the area, paving the way for the introduction of more frequent services from December as part of the biggest timetable change in 40 years.

Network Rail is inviting schoolchildren in Dawlish, Devon, to take part in an art competition that will brighten up hoardings around the new sea wall works close to Dawlish station.

Residents in Twyford, near Reading, are invited to attend a Network Rail drop-in session on Tuesday 24 September to find out more about upcoming work to repair the steel and masonry on Waltham Road bridge.

Network Rail will be holding a series of drop-in sessions to update residents on the Crossrail west station improvement works taking place at Acton, Ealing, Hayes & Harlington, Southall, and West Drayton in preparation for the introduction of Elizabeth line and new Transport for London (TfL) Rail services from December 2019.

Network Rail is set to restart work on a new bigger sea wall at Dawlish, in Devon, on 9 September which will provide greater protection to the railway and town from rising sea levels and extreme weather for generations to come.

Wales and Western’s rail network will benefit from £9.4m worth of investment over the August bank holiday weekend (Saturday 24 to Monday 26 August inclusive), as 1,600 Network Rail staff will work a combined total of 17,392 hours to carry out vital upgrades to improve rail performance for passengers and freight.

Residents are invited to a drop-in session in Dawlish, Devon, to update them ahead of work restarting on the new sea wall which will help protect the town and the railway from extreme weather and rising sea levels for generations to come.
