Network Rail has reopened the railway in the Salfords area (near Gatwick) and train services are back to normal, following successful repair works over weekend.

Network Rail will be closing two of the four lines in the Salfords area (near Gatwick) on three days this weekend to secure the railway embankment to prevent a landslip. A reduced train service will operate and passengers are being asked to check before travelling.

Services are running again on the line between Horsham and Dorking after Network Rail engineers and contractors repaired a 30 metre landslip, not far from Ockley station.

Network Rail engineers worked around the clock over Christmas and New Year to deliver vital rail upgrades across Sussex and south London.

Network Rail successfully replaced two bridge decks on all four tracks of the Brighton Main Line at Selsdon Road bridge near Croydon, over the holiday weekend.

Network Rail engineers and contractors have begun work repairing a 30 metre landslip on the railway between Horsham and Dorking, not far from Ockley station. No trains have been able to run on the line since Christmas.

Passengers who need to make essential journeys should check before they travel as there will be changes to services on a few routes due to engineering works including the Gatwick Airport station upgrade project. Drivers are being reminded to watch for and stop when red warning lights are displayed at automatic half barrier crossings.
