Network Rail engineers will use a nine-day closure of the Brighton Main Line in February next year, to deliver an £11m junction renewal near Haywards Heath and build a new underpass at Hassocks.
Changes to services between Littlehampton and Brighton as Network Rail engineers tackle landslip risk site at Hove
- In order to stabilise the cutting and protect the railway from rockfall, engineers will be installing 1,012 rock bolts into the ground
- Passengers are advised to check either Southern or National Rail enquiry websites before they travel as services between Littlehampton and Brighton will change

- Enhancements worth over £150m included the continued work to upgrade Gatwick and Crawley stations
- Passengers welcomed back with enhanced cleaning and advised to wear masks in crowded stations.

Network Rail’s Southern region has invested over £1.8 billion in the railway to support the country in its mission to ‘build back better’ so passengers can feel confident and safe when they return to travelling by train.
After nine days of work and a £22m investment, the railway through Horsham reopened today (Monday), with passengers thanked for their patience
In all, more than 40 miles of railway was closed, from Saturday, 14 August, until Sunday, 22 August, for a mixture of upgrades and maintenance across over 120 different sites. Buses replaced trains between Arundel, Horsham, Crawley and Dorking for the nine days.
