A striking image of a steam train travelling through Parkstone in Dorset has been commended in the Network Rail-sponsored Lines in the Landscape Award at this year’s Take a View’s Landscape Photographer of the Year competition.

Network Rail has awarded a contract to VINCI Construction UK Ltd. for the design and upgrade of 13 stations in west London and Berkshire and a separate contract for overhead line equipment to Balfour Beatty.

Passengers who travel into and through London Bridge station from south east London and Kent are being advised of changes to services from January 2015.

Network Rail is set to complete the final major milestone of the £43m improvement scheme at Peterborough station over the Christmas period, increasing capacity on the railway and creating a transport gateway fit for growing railway demand.
