London Bridge Station reopened by The Duke of Cambridge, Prince William after five year rail and building programme which nearly doubles capacity and provides 30% more connections

Passengers in the South East are being urged to check before they travel over the two May bank holidays as work takes place across the region's railways.

London Bridge station played host to a very special birthday party today when the first – and so far only – baby to be born at the redeveloped station returned with his parents to celebrate his first birthday.

With the May bank holidays fast-approaching, Network Rail is reminding passengers in the South East to plan their journeys in advance of the two bank holiday weekends. 

Network Rail engineers have worked through the night to remove more than 20 tonnes of debris from the railway after a landslip at Holmwood in Surrey caused the line to be closed between Horsham and Dorking.

Network Rail have taken over Guildford and Clapham Junction stations to support ongoing delivery of the Railway Upgrade Plan.

Motorists and rail passengers can have their say on Network Rail’s proposals for a major upgrade to Yapton level crossing between Ford and Barnham in West Sussex. The crossing, which is used by 8,000 vehicles and 300 trains every weekday, will be upgraded from an automatic half-barrier crossing to a full-barrier crossing controlled by CCTV. 

A public meeting at Yapton Village Hall, Main Road, Yapton, BN18 0ET on Tuesday 24 April, 7.00-8.00pm will give crossing users the opportunity to hear more about the upgrade and its impact on road and rail traffic.
