Today (Friday 8 March) safety teams from Network Rail have been at Birmingham International station reminding passengers heading to Crufts about the importance of crossing the railway safely with their four-legged friends.

Today, on International Women’s Day, 11 of the 15 people needed to signal trains on the West Coast Main Line between London and Crewe are women.

Network Rail has thanked passengers after completing major emergency repairs to the railway in Stoke Mandeville following a landslip caused by heavy rainfall.  

Passengers travelling between London Marylebone and Aylesbury via Amersham are being urged to check their journeys while Network Rail carries out emergency repairs to the railway in Stoke Mandeville following a landslip.

Yesterday (Thursday 22 February), representatives from the Railway Heritage Trust, Henley-in-Arden Parish Council, West Midlands Railway, Friends of the Shakespeare Line and Friends of Henley Railway Station joined Network Rail’s Lord Peter Hendy to open Henley-in-Arden’s newly refurbished station building.

Network Rail is working with Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) and the West Midlands Rail Executive (WMRE) to build and open Aldridge station – restoring passenger rail services to the town for the first time in 60 years. 

Passengers are being advised about major changes to weekend trains between Birmingham, Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury while Network Rail carries out work to improve the railway.
