The railway between London and Scotland via the West Midlands and the North West has fully reopened after multiple engineering projects were successfully delivered.

Engineers have completed a complex track renewal through a narrow Victorian railway tunnel to improve West Coast Main Line journeys for passengers and freight.

Rail passengers travelling in the North West, West Midlands and on the West Coast Main Line between London and Scotland are advised to check before they travel this weekend as heavy snowfall is expected in some areas over the weekend.

Passenger and freight trains are now benefitting from a once in a generation overhaul of the signalling system serving one of Britain’s busiest railway junctions.

Passengers travelling through Manchester Piccadilly’s platforms 13 and 14 are being advised of work to repair one of the travelators.
