Photography exhibition at Waterloo extended for a month
Passengers and station visitors at Britain's busiest station, London Waterloo, will have an extra month to enjoy the Landscape Photographer of the Year Awards exhibition, currently on the station mezzanine, as huge popularity has led the station team to extend its run for a month until the end of February. Dozens of images of the winners and commended entries from this year's competition are being exhibited, including the winner of the Network Rail sponsored 'Lines in the Landscape' award, which rewards the best image taken of Britain’s railway network.

Network Rail is seeking to recruit 200 young people from across Britain for its award-winning apprenticeship scheme, as it continues the largest investment into the railway since Victorian times.

Record Christmas trade: Consumers opt for convenience shopping and dining at travel hubs as high street habits change
Christmas retail trading (29 November to 27 December 2014) at Network Rail’s 18 managed stations was the busiest on record growing 15.8%, with like-for-like sales growing by 10.7%, according to figures just released by the rail operator.
This contrasts sharply with the BRC-Nielsen Shop Price Index which recorded growth of only 2.6% for the 5-week period.
