Passengers kept moving by train during major Easter upgrade work between Leeds and York
As part of the multi-billion-pound Transpennine Route Upgrade, we will be carrying out a series of improvements between Leeds and Neville Hill on Easter Sunday - and the newly-reinforced line through Castleford will help us keep passengers moving while we carry out this work.

Leicestershire road closure due to Midland Mainline electrification
Wistow Road in Newton Harcourt is closing today (24 March 2023) from the junction with Kibworth Road. People are being asked to follow the signposted diversions for Station Road.
Plan ahead as essential work affects rail and road routes
A £1.5 million programme to strengthen a railway bridge in Kempston Hardwick, Bedfordshire (pictured) will get under way this month to improve reliability for passengers. Over the next five months, Network Rail engineers will repair and strengthen the steel girders, bridge deck and improve drainage and guttering on the structure which carries the Midland Main Line over the B530 Ampthill Road.
Alfreton station Access for All update
Network Rail is pleased to report that plans to make the station accessible are moving forward with a completion date scheduled for the first half of 2024.
