Network Rail opens £14million facility in Doncaster after major expansion project
Network Rail marked the opening of a £14million depot in Doncaster yesterday (Tuesday, 7 July) which will bring highly skilled teams across the borough together. It will also help to boost the economy in the town which is famous for its railway history.

- Project is part of £1.2billion upgrade which will deliver more trains, thousands of extra seats and more reliable journeys between London, the north, and Scotland.
- Under current COVID-19 guidance, journeys should only be made if they are necessary, and those needing to travel should avoid using public transport wherever possible. It is now mandatory to wear a face covering when using public transport.

A £1million Network Rail project to upgrade the footbridge at Welwyn Garden City station will now reopen in June and complete in the Summer, after additional defects were identified and severe weather and social distancing measures impacted on progress.
