Network Rail and LNER have released broadcast quality footage for you to download and use ahead of the main stage of work on the £1.2billion East Coast Upgrade starting next week. 

• The main stage of a £1.2billion upgrade of the East Coast Main Line begins next week
• Three months of work will see Network Rail improve the track layout on the approach to London King’s Cross station and reopen a disused railway tunnel- making it easier for trains to enter and exit the station
• The work is part of the East Coast Upgrade, which will transform journeys between London, the North of England and Scotland
• Reduced service to/from London King’s Cross station between 1 March and 6 June (inclusive)
• No trains in or out of London King’s Cross station on 26/27/28 February, 23/24/25 April and 4/5/6 June

• Three-day closure at London King’s Cross from Friday 26 until Sunday 28 February (inclusive) paves way for main stage of £1.2billion East Coast Main Line upgrade starting next week
• No Thameslink or Great Northern services south of Potters Bar, New Barnet and Gordon Hill this Friday with further changes over the weekend
• Further work will take place between March and June to improve the track layout at King’s Cross and reopen a disused railway tunnel – making it easier for trains to enter and exit the station
• The work is part of the East Coast Upgrade, which will transform journeys between London, Cambridgeshire, the North of England and Scotland

Network Rail worker Rory Higgins, who is based in York, has been recognised as a Railway Hero, following his work to keep freight services moving throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Network Rail is starting improvement work at Harringay station this month, as part of a wider project which will see the footbridge strengthened.

• No trains in or out of King’s Cross station on Friday 26, Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 February, ahead of crucial stage of work to simplify track layout between March and June
• Work is part of East Coast Upgrade, which will transform journeys between London, Cambridge and Peterborough as well as the North of England and Scotland
• Passengers who must travel for essential reasons urged to check their journeys.

• Major improvement work means there are no trains to/from King’s Cross this weekend (Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 January)
• Buses also replace trains between Peterborough and Hitchin this weekend
• People must follow the latest Government guidance and only travel for limited reasons
• Further changes to services ahead of partial closure at King’s Cross between March and June
