Over the August Bank Holiday, Network Rail delivered a package of improvements worth over £2.8m to bring better, more reliable journeys for passengers between Hitchin and London terminals.  

• Rail passengers travelling on the East Coast Main Line are urged to plan ahead this Thursday (18 Aug) and Saturday (20 Aug) as a limited timetable will be available  
• Amid national industrial action, less than half of usual services will run between London and Edinburgh from 7:30am until 6:30pm 
• Passengers should check before they travel, expect disruption and only travel if necessary  

Passengers intending to travel between London Kings Cross and Stevenage and on Great Northern routes into Moorgate over the August Bank Holiday weekend are being asked to plan ahead due to engineering work, and check how their journey may be affected.

The East Coast Main Line has now reopened after teams carried out repairs to the railway in Sandy, Bedfordshire following significant damage caused by a fire which spread to the tracks.
