Passengers are being urged to check before travelling this Easter holiday as Network Rail works to deliver vital upgrades and track renewals. 

This Saturday marks two weeks to go until the start of critical railway upgrades between Staines and Windsor.

Network Rail is searching for Scotland’s next generation of railway engineers with applications now open for the company’s 2025 apprenticeship programme.

Passengers are being advised to check before they travel between London and Norwich in late March, April and early May, as weekend services will be affected by works to keep the railway running safely and reliably in future. The engineering work will also mean changes to services on the Sudbury and Braintree lines.

Passengers travelling between London Euston and Scotland are being advised to plan their journeys in advance over the Easter bank holiday weekend.  

Railway safety teams have returned to Crufts to help competitors, visitors, and their four-legged friends stay safe at level crossings. 

In the run up to International Women’s Day on 8 March, members of an all-female signalling box just outside York have told of their journeys into the rail industry.

Network Rail has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Transport for NSW in Australia to develop rail technology, improve reliability, and drive sustainability that will benefit millions of rail passengers on both sides of the world.
