The railway between Axminster and Crewkerne reopened as planned on Sunday (23rd September) morning following a nine-day closure, during which Network Rail successfully installed two 550-tonne underground culverts to improve resilience of the railway through Devon.

Work to electrify the Stirling, Dunblane and Alloa lines ahead of the introduction of new electric trains will see the railway between Larbert and Dunblane close from Sunday October 14 to Monday October 22. 

Network Rail engineers were today working to clear the railway of trees blown down by Storm Ali.

Breich station has re-opened to passenger service following a 12 week closure to enable a £2.4m redevelopment.
