Network Rail’s Reading station team have shown their appreciation for hard-working NHS staff across the country by creating a colourful stair display inside the station.

The biggest rail investment in nearly four decades for the Guildford area has passed the half-way point as Network Rail engineers worked throughout the Easter holiday period to deliver vital passenger improvements.

Work to reinforce a steep railway embankment is now complete to make future journeys on the railway between Barrow-in-Furness and Lancaster more reliable.

The railway has teamed up with the fire brigade to carry out a huge Easter egg give away for children in Cumbria.

Network Rail has announced that the closure of Bromham Road will be in place until Summer 2020 to allow the final stage of work to upgrade the railway bridge to be completed.

Network Rail has thanked people who usually use London Liverpool Street railway station for following government guidance and only travelling when essential as new figures show that footfall at the station has decreased by 95%.

Rob Turnbull, a Network Rail worker from Morpeth, will feature in an upcoming episode of the new BBC One documentary series Night Force, which showcases the people working overnight to keep Britain running.
