Network Rail has announced that a section of the West Highland Line between Crianlarich and Fort William/Mallaig will be closed for nine days in March.

The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) has so far taken on 52 apprentices in North Yorkshire, who have been involved in some of the project's biggest pieces of work across the region including the installation of electric overhead wires between Church Fenton and York that will power faster, greener, cleaner trains.

TRU has so far taken on 41 apprentices in Greater Manchester, who have been involved in some of the projects biggest pieces of work across the city region, including the installation of overhead electrical wires between Manchester and Stalybridge which will come into use later this year.
