Thorne South station to be fully accessible when line reopens
Passengers using Thorne South station will find a fully accessible footbridge linking the platforms when the line reopens to rail services on 8 July. A temporary stepped structure which was installed in January to replace a level crossing has been replaced with a purpose-built bridge which has both steps and ramps.

Network Rail launches ‘Live Wire’: new electrification safety education campaign
Network Rail this week launched a new safety education campaign - ‘Live Wire’ - to increase awareness among schoolchildren about railway electricity and how to stay safe around the railway.
The initiative coincides with the electrification of a number of key routes across the north west of England between now and 2016. The first electrified line will be switched on in August 2013.
