Passengers to the south and west of London are reminded to check before they travel this August bank holiday as they are set to benefit from a wide range of improvements to the line out of Waterloo as part of Network Rail’s Railway Upgrade Plan.

Work to upgrade the footbridge at Penmaenmawr station on the North Wales coastline has been completed as part of Network Rail’s Railway Upgrade Plan, to deliver a bigger and better railway for passengers.

The line between Didcot and Oxford has re-opened on schedule this morning after being closed for 16 days while Network Rail carried out improvement works as part of its Railway Upgrade Plan to provide a bigger, better, more reliable railway for passengers.

The rail line between Fort William and Mallaig will remain closed over the weekend as engineers work to repair damage caused by a landslip near Lochailort.

Rail passengers, residents, businesses and road users will benefit from added flood alleviation measures on the Dawlish Warren Road near Cockwood in Devon thanks to work carried out by Network Rail as part of its Railway Upgrade Plan.

Improvements to the railway station buildings at Knaresborough will get under way in the coming weeks. 

The planned closure of the barrow crossing at Halesworth station in Suffolk has been postponed by Network Rail, hoping that an interim solution will change unsafe behaviour at the crossing.
