Network Rail’s orange army has completed a £1m flood-protection scheme under the West Coast main line at Chorley in Lancashire.

Network Rail and South West Trains have today (26 January) published detailed train service information to help passengers plan their journeys during the major upgrades taking place at London Waterloo this August as part of Network Rail’s Railway Upgrade Plan.

Changes to Southeastern train services will remain in place for the rest of the week after Network Rail engineers uncovered extensive damage to the railway following yesterday’s freight train partial derailment in Lewisham.

Network Rail has taken the next step in its plans to reinstate the fourth track between Huntingdon and Woodwalton after submitting a Transport and Works Act Order (TWAO) to the Secretary of State for Transport for approval.
