New statistics reveal a 50 per cent increase in the number of times the public has acted to prevent a suicide on the railway in the south east.

Figures released today (7 November) show a 20% increase* in the number of times the public has acted to prevent suicide in the rail environment.  

Passengers in the south west are being advised to check before they travel tomorrow morning with no services running through Dawlish and Teignmouth in Devon owing to expected extreme weather.
