A memorial to 16 railway workers who died serving in World War One will be formally welcomed to Bangor railway station having previously been located at St David’s Church in Bangor.  Member of the media are warmly invited to attend this special event.

• Landslip at a remote site between Godstone and Edenbridge closed the railway on 22 December and will require 40,000 tonnes of stone to build it back up again (to be delivered by train).
• Buses replace trains between Redhill and Edenbridge and a weekday train service runs between Edenbridge and Tonbridge (bus replacement over the full line on weekends)
• The plan is to reopen the railway as soon as possible by fixing the existing slip and simultaneously work on a longer-term fix to stop any further slips happening on this stretch of line.

• Passengers advised not to travel as significant disruption to journeys to/from London on the East Coast Main Line this weekend
• On Saturday, 25 and Sunday, 26 January, lines between Peterborough and King’s Cross and Hitchin and London St Pancras closed
• Next set of provisional service disruptions announced for 2020/2021
• £1.2billion investment will provide faster journeys, more services, thousands more seats and improved reliability for passengers

London Waterloo station played host to Brew Monday to encourage people to have a chat with someone to improve their mental health.

Network Rail will be delivering a multi-million-pound programme of maintenance and renewal work on the West Coast Mainline over 10 weekends between April and June this year.

• Updated proposals published for changes to the rail line in south Devon which needs to be better protected from cliff falls, land slips and damage caused by extreme weather
• Public consultation now open until 1 March for local communities across the south west to help shape the final design of the scheme
• Six-week consultation includes details of the plans to realign the railway to make room for corrective measures to stabilise the cliffs
• The updated plans mean most of the beach is retained with improved leisure access and amenities including new, fully accessible coastal walking routes

A well-used railway footbridge near Mossley Hill station in Liverpool is being fully refurbished from next month.
