Passengers will benefit from improved journeys following major upgrades to the region’s rail network over the August bank holiday, as all of the projects across Anglia were delivered on time. 

People from all backgrounds are being encouraged to think about a career on the railway at a special event at Manchester Piccadilly.

Network Rail is advising passengers that platforms 4 and 5 at Glasgow Queen Street will close from mid-September to mid-October, as engineers deliver the final phase of platform extension work as part of the station’s multi-million-pound redevelopment.

Bank holiday railway engineers turned dog rescuers after a wayward pooch found her way on to the tracks on the West Coast main line.

Passengers are benefitting from a more reliable railway after major engineering work over the August bank holiday.

Network Rail and train operators along the East Coast Main Line have today (Tuesday, 27 August) thanked passengers for their patience and understanding as major work took place over the Bank Holiday weekend. A full train service on the East Coast Main Line has now resumed. 

Kilwinning station’s new, fully-accessible footbridge and lifts are now open for passengers.

Ahead of work to cut back trees and vegetation on the railway between East Kilbride and Glasgow, Network Rail is inviting local people to ‘drop-in’ to find out more about the work.
