Communities and passengers in Devon are to benefit from the reopening of the railway between Okehampton and Exeter as a result of the Government’s ‘Restoring your Railway’ initiative.

Network Rail engineers will be raising Black Bridge, near Machynlleth, by one metre to lift it out of the flood zone.

• The project is part of the wider Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) that will improve train capacity and reliability from Manchester to York, via Huddersfield and Leeds
