A package of works on swing bridges in Norfolk and Suffolk has been completed this autumn as part of a project to improve their reliability.

Major work on the Trent Valley line to replace track and upgrade the railway signalling system to improve future rail journeys for passengers is now complete.

• National rail strikes planned for 5, 7 and 9 November will significantly reduce train services across the East Midlands
• Work on three major engineering projects between London and Luton will push ahead over the next two weekends (5 / 6 and 12 / 13 November)
• Passengers should plan ahead, check before travelling and only travel if necessary on strike days

Network Rail has this morning reopened the Ebbw Vale line again to passenger trains after a nine-day closure. 

Network Rail and South Western Railway are strengthening their fight against leaves on the line to keep trains running safely and reliably in Surrey, Hampshire, Wiltshire and Dorset this autumn.

Work to build an inclusive and accessible Assisted Travel Lounge at Manchester Piccadilly station for disabled passengers has begun.

Network Rail has completed the installation of 121 new overhead electrification structures as part of the wider project to upgrade and remodel Carstairs Junction.
