Network Rail has released new drone video footage today (Thursday 14 March 2024) showing the huge operation underway to repair a landslip on the railway in Telford affecting journeys between Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury stations.

The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) is investing around £100million in a new rail depot in Shipley.

From 3 April, passengers are being urged to allow extra travel time when using Piccadilly’s platforms 13 and 14, while the satellite lounge is closed for upgrades.

From, Saturday 1 June to Sunday 10 August inclusive, the Blackheath tunnel between Blackheath and Charlton will close as Network Rail begins £10m of essential repairs to the 175-year-old Victorian-era structure. Southeastern trains which normally run through the tunnel will be diverted via other routes during the closure.

Sections of the railway line between Manchester and Sheffield will be closed from Saturday 16 March to Sunday 24 March as works are carried out to complete the final phase of the Hope Valley Railway Upgrade.
