Passengers advised to allow extra travel time at Manchester Piccadilly during temporary lounge closure
From 3 April, passengers are being urged to allow extra travel time when using Piccadilly’s platforms 13 and 14, while the satellite lounge is closed for upgrades.

Essential repairs to Blackheath tunnel to take place over 10 weeks this summer
From, Saturday 1 June to Sunday 10 August inclusive, the Blackheath tunnel between Blackheath and Charlton will close as Network Rail begins £10m of essential repairs to the 175-year-old Victorian-era structure. Southeastern trains which normally run through the tunnel will be diverted via other routes during the closure.

Six-day, £1.9 million Stranraer line upgrade complete
Network Rail has completed a six-day, £1.9 million upgrade of the Stranraer line.
The project involved replacing more than 1km of track at Laggansarroch viaduct, near Girvan, including the use of 200 recycled plastic (composite) sleepers over the structure itself.
