New Street’s ‘lamp block’ receives the green light of excellence

Rail line at Hatfield & Stainforth reopens
Passenger and freight trains are once again running through Hatfield & Stainforth. The railway was forced to close after a spoil heap slip at Hatfield Colliery and engineers have relocated approximately one million cubic metres of material in order to restore services.

Easier access for Cumbrian Coast passengers
Passengers using the Cumbrian Coast line will soon benefit from better access as a project to provide easier access between platforms and trains gets underway at a number of stations this month.

Network Rail on track for Hatfield & Stainforth line re-opening
Passengers will be able to get a train through Hatfield & Stainforth on Monday 8 July. Work to restore the line is progressing as planned with engineers working around the clock to hand back the railway on time. Freight and passenger trains will recommence service through Hatfield & Stainforth from 5am.
