Work to deliver Network Rail’s £1bn+ investment in the rail network in the north of England will increase in 2016, bringing passengers another step closer to better services and a better railway.

Network Rail has appointed Susan Cooklin as its new route services director and joins the company’s executive team.  Ms Cooklin was previously group chief information officer (CIO) and director shared services, leading the company’s 900-strong IT and shared services unit.

Passenger train services have resumed after Network Rail successfully completed a £100m railway upgrade in Greater Lincolnshire.
