Network Rail is inviting members of the public to a safety event to discuss the level crossing in Wem town centre.

The chairman of Network Rail, Professor Richard Parry-Jones CBE, has today announced his intention to step down after he has finished three years in the role in July.

A total of 41 new apprentices have joined railway maintenance teams in depots across the West Midlands and north west of England to start their on-the-job training after successfully completing their first year of the award-winning Network Rail Advanced Apprenticeship Scheme.
