Passengers are being advised to check before they travel this week after a landslip damaged the railway between Eastbourne and Lewes, in Sussex.

School children made history on Friday 11 March when they buried a time capsule at the newly transformed Port Talbot Parkway station.

Newport residents, road users and railway passengers are invited to attend a series of drop-in events to find out more about the work to prepare the railway under the Bridge Street road bridge for a new fleet of electric trains.

Ipswich-based signal maintenance engineer, Owen Flanders, is proof that an apprenticeship can get you ahead in the workplace and he has taken part in a video to encourage people to think about apprenticeships ahead of National Apprenticeship Week (14-18 March). Owen works on one of the most heavily-used freight paths in Britain, covering the mainline from London Liverpool Street to Norwich, which also sees around 32 million passenger journeys a year.

Network Rail has today announced that Drumgrew Road will re-open on Friday, 15th April, following an eight month closure to demolish and reconstruct the bridge over the railway.

The West Coast main line is returning to normal today (Thursday) after floods caused severe delays yesterday.
