Network Rail and South Western Railway are reminding passengers to check before they travel over seven weekends this autumn as work to boost capacity at the station by 30% continues.

Railway upgrade work between London and Cardiff will affect journeys for fans travelling to the Anthony Joshua and Kubrat Pulev fight in the Principality Stadium on 28 October.

Network Rail’s orange army will be out in force, installing new track in the Ipswich and Colchester areas on the main line into London at weekends in September and October to make services more reliable and reduce delays for the millions of people that travel on this route every year.

Work to enhance platform one at Broughty Ferry station will now begin in January 2018 following discussions between Dundee City Council and Network Rail.

Passengers can travel by train between Bolton and Manchester again after the line reopened early following emergency repairs to a bridge which was badly damaged by a burst water main.

Passengers travelling between Hunts Cross and Liverpool Central are being asked to check before they travel this month as two railway bridge upgrades will affect services over two weekends.
