Railway 200 Events Update
Railway 200 marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of the modern railway.
So far, over 300 events celebrating the past, present and future of the railway have been scheduled across Britain over the coming year. More events are being added to Railway 200's website every week.
The following is a list of events in April and May.

Network Rail signs landmark collaborative agreement with the Bluebell Railway
Network Rail and the Bluebell Railway have signed an agreement which will see further collaboration between the two organisations – the first of its kind with a heritage railway in the south of England.

Four Network Rail employees have been recognised for their outstanding contributions in HM The King’s New Year Honours list announced today.

Local communities benefit as Food Waste Heroes scheme rolls out at rail stations
- A total of 34 rail stations across Great Britain are now participating in the Food Waste Heroes programme
- A 12-week trial at Waterloo station provided more than 3,000 meals to over 100 households
- 11,000 households across Great Britain could benefit from surplus food donations

- Network Rail’s partnership with The Green Block has already boosted recycling rates from just 13% to 91% at London Victoria over the past three years
