Network Rail today released station retail sales results showing a 6.4% growth in like-for-like sales from April to June 2013. In the same period high street sales, reported by the British Retail Consortium, increased by 0.4%, meaning retail sales in stations continue to outperform the high street.

Network Rail has today launched the search for around 100 graduates to join its 2014 graduate scheme and become future leaders of Britain’s rail industry. The company has also has expanded its one-year work placement programme for undergraduates to find and secure the best and brightest before they leave university.
New home for New Street furniture
Network Rail has donated surplus furniture from the old station offices at Birmingham New Street station to St Mary’s Hospice in the city.
Hidden tunnel beneath New Street platforms opens for first time in almost 10 years
For the first time in almost ten years, a network of tunnels underneath Birmingham New Street station has been opened by Network Rail to allow West Midlands Fire Service to conduct a live training exercise.
