The rail industry is seeking 50 more graduates to join its unique 18-month paid work placement scheme, Track & Train. Graduates are employed for three, six-month placements: one at Network Rail and two at either a passenger or freight operator or another company within the rail sector to gain a broad range of experience.

Network Rail has started work to construct a new public footpath at Robinswood in Gloucester – including a raised walkway over an active badger sett.

The search is on in the Westcountry to find the best photography of the British landscape and that of the rail network.

Life-size railway track, rail inspection helicopter presentations and apprentices talking about their work experience will all be part of an open evening for parents and young people hosted by Network Rail as part of its partnership with UTC Reading – a new University Technical College specialising in computer science and engineering for 14-19 year olds, opening this September.

Passengers in Reading are being asked to prepare themselves for 10 days of changes to train services as their new station arrives this Easter.
