A series of rail and road closures taking place at various times between 27 September and 13 November will affect rail users and drivers between Guildford and Portsmouth , as Network Rail engineers complete the final stage of the Portsmouth Direct signalling upgrade between Farncombe and Petersfield.

ONE MONTH TO GO: October half-term to bring changes to train services in Berkshire and Surrey
Passengers in Berkshire and North Surrey will face changes to their journeys during October half-term, from Saturday 25 October to Friday 31 October, while Network Rail carries out major upgrades on the lines between Wokingham and Reading as well as between Staines and Windsor with buses replacing trains during the work.

Improvement works will run on the Island Line from 18 October to 17 November, with a mix of full and partial closures.

STARTING SUNDAY: North Downs Line between Guildford and Reigate to close for two weeks in September with buses replacing trains.
Buses will replace trains between Guildford, Reigate and Gatwick Airport for two weeks, commencing Sunday 14 September through Saturday 27 September, due to critical signalling and level crossing upgrades.
