Bristol is set to significantly benefit from Network Rail’s seven-day railway vision, as the company introduces today a new initiative and technology to minimise passenger disruption.

The Conwy Valley railway line, closed owing to flooding, is scheduled to reopen to passengers on Monday, 30 November.

The ‘Harrington Hump’ is shortly to arrive at Aberdovey station, where passengers will be the first in Wales to benefit from this new addition to the platform that makes it easier for them to get on and off trains.

Network Rail is now gearing up to transform a railway yard in Westbury into one of the biggest track materials recycling hub in the country, as the company receives planning permission from the council.

Network Rail presented the option to build a brand new footbridge, complete with ramps, at a public meeting in Wareham last night. 

The company has offered to support Dorset County Council by funding part of the cost of installing a footbridge.
