Network Rail is planning to re-open the section of Cambrian Coast railway between Dovey Junction and Barmouth next week.

Network Rail has laid out its proposals, as tasked by the Government in summer 2012, for a new rail link from the Great Western main line to London Heathrow airport.

The railway between Exeter and Penzance is currently shut after damage at several locations caused by storm force winds, heavy seas and flooding.

Network Rail is inviting young people and their families from across West of England to its delivery unit in Swindon on 1 February to experience life as a railway apprentice and meet the people and high-tech kit involved in keeping Britain’s rail network running.
