The Cardiff Road bridge in Newport, has reopened to two-way road traffic today (Friday 29 April) after Network Rail completed essential upgrade work in preparation for the arrival of the new fleet of electric trains.

Motorists are being reminded the importance of obeying signals and signs at level crossings following a spike in misuse incidents in Whitland, Carmarthenshire.

Passengers are being reminded to check before they travel as upgrade work to prepare Newport station for a new fleet of electric trains begins on Monday 11 April.
