Network Rail is thanking passengers for their patience and understanding today after the completion of work to renew the track inside the historic Dinmore Tunnel on the Marches line.  

Network Rail is reminding passengers that buses will replace trains on the Ebbw Vale line on Saturday 30 September and Sunday 1 October as work on the £70m upgrade enters its final stage.  

Residents in Llanharan are being invited to a drop-in event to find out more about work to install a new footbridge near Trenos level crossing.  

Brand new rail services are set to be launched on one of South Wales’ key lines, almost doubling the number of travel options.

Buses will replace trains between Hereford and Shrewsbury during a nine-day closure on the Marches Line between Tuesday 12 September to Thursday 21 September as teams work around the clock to renew the track and ballast inside the historic tunnel. 

Preparation is underway for the final stage of Network Rail’s multi-million-pound refurbishment of the iconic North Wales viaduct, with work on the metallic elements taking place from Saturday 2 September, for 13-weeks.  

Services between Swindon and Gloucester will be affected with no direct services between London Paddington and Cheltenham Spa.  

The Severn Estuary line has today (Friday 18 August) reopened after three weeks of 24/7 work to mitigate the impact of weather-related landslips that will improve train performance, reduce delays, and ensure the highest level of reliability for passengers and freight services.
