Two acclaimed south coast artists will highlight the often underrated work of railway professionals at London's Waterloo station on Thursday.

Rail passengers in South London asked to plan ahead as Network Rail brings an upgraded signalling system online over 7 days this October half term

• Engineering works taking place at Teston, East Farleigh station and Maidstone West station 
• Between Thursday 31 October and Sunday 3 November the line is closed between Paddock Wood and Maidstone West with buses replacing trains
• People asked to plan ahead and check before they travel

• Work is enhancing life of 180-year-old iconic Grade II listed Viaduct
• Critical piece of railway infrastructure – almost 17 million passenger journeys are made across the viaduct every year
• Originally built using 11 million bricks and opened in 1841

Network Rail have been supporting the Swanage Railway, a heritage line in Dorset, by providing a Multi Purpose Vehicle (MPV) to help treat the railway and keep it weed-free

• The Island Line will close from Ryde Pier Head to Shanklin between Friday 6 September and Sunday 6 October for vital maintenance
• Ryde Pier will close from Friday 6 September 2024 until May 2025 while life extension work continues
• One train every 30 minutes will operate between Ryde Esplanade and Shanklin from Monday 7 October to early May 2025
• Rail replacement bus services will operate during both closures

Buses will replace trains between Hastings, Rye and Ashford International while engineers work on the tunnel
